After ongoing consultation with respective Officers of the Boards of NAMRI, ASME-MED, and JSME-LEM&P, NAMRI SME is announcing that NAMRC 48 has been cancelled due to the ongoing safety concerns associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. We reached this decision to protect the health and wellness of the global academicians, government and industry researchers, engineers, students and leaders in manufacturing who make up the inspiring collocated manufacturing conferences community.
Importantly, NAMRI SME will move forward with the publication of NAMRC 48 proceedings through Procedia Manufacturing published by Elsevier, as has been done in previous years. NAMRI SME would like to thank Elsevier for their continued support in these unprecedented times. We have removed the presentation clause for all original, basic and applied research in advanced manufacturing. The NAMRI Scientific Committee would like to express their gratitude to all reviewers for conducting such a rigorous review process as per the original plan.
SME remains committed to the advancement of the scientific foundation of manufacturing. The next generation of applications of emerging and innovative technology in material removal, forming and additive manufacturing processes and machines, and cyber-physical systems will not be slowed by this pandemic.
NAMRC 49 will take place on June 21-25, 2021 at the University of Cincinnati.
